Specification Terminology & Units
Specification Terminology & Units
This knowledge base follows the conventions below for interpreting dimensions, ratings, and technical terminology used across Blu-Sub Mechatronics products:
- Numerical dimensions are expressed in millimeters (mm) unless otherwise noted. For example, a length listed as "550" indicates a length of 550 mm.
- O-ring specifications follow the format: Inner Diameter (d₁) × Cross-Section Diameter (d₂). For example, Ø12.42 × 1.78 represents an O-ring with a 12.42 mm inner diameter and a 1.78 mm cross-section diameter.
- Depth ratings are expressed in meters (m) unless specified, and refer to pressure depth in freshwater. For instance, a depth of "1000" indicates a rated depth of 1000 m in freshwater.
- Design life (in years) refers to estimates from accelerated aging environmental tests, including allowable storage time. It does not indicate the warranty period.
- Design life (in cycles) refers to the number of pressurization cycles the component is rated to withstand at its rated depth. This also does not represent a warranty period.
- Weight values listed are approximate and represent the actual average weight of the product.
