The Blu-Thrust collection includes the Z60 and Z80 series underwater thrusters—direct-drive propulsion units designed for ROVs, AUVs, USVs, diver propulsion vehicles, and other subsea platforms where responsive thrust and dependable operation are required. Both series are rated to 300 m / 984 ft and undergo underwater production testing prior to shipment.
The Z60 series is optimized for compact, space-efficient vehicle integration and features a fully resin-encapsulated brushless outrunner motor with a removable duct assembly for propeller access and maintenance. The standard Z60/Z60E propeller configuration is optimized for 24 V / 6S systems, while optional 12 V / 3S compatibility is available using the Blu-Thrust Z60/Z60E 12V 3-Blade Propeller Conversion Set (CCW+CW). This keeps the same Z60/Z60E thruster body and motor platform while changing the propeller geometry for lower-voltage operation.
The Z80 series is a larger, higher-output platform engineered for applications requiring increased thrust and torque capacity. Unlike the Z60, the Z80 series is available in separate motor KV configurations: 170KV models optimized for 24 V / 6S systems and 290KV models optimized for 12 V-class / 4S systems. Both Z80 configurations share the same mechanical platform, mounting architecture, and hydrodynamic design.
Both series are available in standard (non-ESC) configurations for external speed controller integration, as well as integrated ESC versions that embed a tuned trapezoidal controller within the thruster housing. Integrated models simplify wiring and reduce internal enclosure electronics requirements while maintaining the same external mounting architecture and hydrodynamic design.
