Shipping policy
We want to be transparent about how we handle order processing, production lead times, shipping, and international customs requirements. Please carefully review this policy before placing an order.
🏠 Shipping Details
- Orders are shipped from Burlington, Ontario, Canada.
- Shipping rates are automatically calculated at checkout using smart box-packing based on destination, package size, and weight.
- A tracking number will be sent via email once your order has shipped.
⏱ Lead Times vs. Shipping Times
Important: The lead times displayed on each product page (e.g. “11 Units Available for Quick Ship – Ships in 1–2 Business Days” or “Made to Order – Ships in 2–4 Weeks”) refer to the estimated time required to prepare and dispatch your order from our facility.
- These are production and handling estimates only, not shipping/delivery times.
- Shipping transit time will be in addition to the lead time shown on the product page.
- Delivery time depends on the shipping method you select at checkout and the performance of the carrier.
Example:
- If a product is listed as “Made to Order – Ships in 2–4 Weeks” and you select FedEx International Priority (3–5 business days transit), the total time before you receive your order may be approximately 2–4 weeks (production) + 3–5 business days (carrier transit).
📦 Bulk Orders
- For bulk order quantities, production and dispatch times may extend well beyond the standard made-to-order lead times posted on product pages.
- Additional time may be required for raw material sourcing, scheduling, and freight consolidation.
- Customers will be notified of any expected delays, but please plan bulk projects with this in mind.
🚚 Estimated Shipping Times & Carrier Responsibility
- Delivery times provided at checkout are estimates only and are calculated by the carrier.
- Once an order leaves our facility, we are not responsible for:
- Delays due to weather, customs, supply chain congestion, or carrier-related issues.
- Packages lost or misrouted in transit.
- Packages marked as “delivered” by the carrier but not received by the customer.
- If your order is delayed or marked as delivered but not received, please contact the carrier directly with your tracking number.
💰 Taxes & Duties
- Orders shipped within Canada are subject to applicable sales tax (GST/HST/PST) based on your shipping address.
- United States orders: Blu-Sub ships U.S. orders Delivered Duties Paid (DDP). Import duties, tariffs, and customs clearance fees are paid by Blu-Sub on the customer’s behalf and are included in the product pricing for the U.S. market.
- Orders shipped outside of Canada and the United States are sent Delivered at Place (DAP). The customer is responsible for all customs duties, import taxes, VAT/GST, brokerage, and clearance fees assessed by the destination country.
- Duties and taxes for international shipments outside the United States are not included in the checkout total and vary by country.
📦 HS Codes & Customs Classification
For transparency and customer reference, Harmonized System (HS) codes are displayed on individual product pages and within the shopping cart.
HS codes are shown in the following format:
HS 3926.90 (CN)
- The 6-digit HS code represents the internationally standardized classification defined by the World Customs Organization.
- The country code in parentheses indicates the product’s country of origin.
- Six-digit HS codes are used because they are the highest level of classification that is globally harmonized.
- Individual countries extend this code to 8 or 10 digits to determine local duties, surtaxes, and trade measures.
About the HS code shown: The HS code displayed is a good-faith, best-fit reference. Final customs classification may differ based on destination-country rules and interpretation by customs authorities.
HS codes shown on our website are provided for reference only. We recommend confirming the final country-specific HS code and applicable duties with a licensed customs broker or local customs authority.
📦 Customs & Import Duties (International Orders)
- For shipments outside the United States, duties, taxes, and import fees (if applicable) are collected by the carrier at the time of delivery.
- We cannot predict or estimate these costs, as they are determined by your country’s customs authority.
🚫 Refused Shipments & Rejected Deliveries
If a customer refuses, rejects, or fails to accept delivery of a shipment from the courier — including due to unpaid duties, taxes, brokerage fees, or customs clearance requests — this action does not constitute a return.
- The customer remains responsible for all incurred costs, including:
- Duties and taxes (where applicable)
- Brokerage and customs clearance fees
- Outbound and return shipping charges
- Carrier handling, storage, and administrative fees
If a refused shipment is returned to Blu-Sub:
- Any reimbursement, if applicable, will be net of all costs incurred.
- The customer must formally submit a return request in accordance with our return policy.
- Refunds are processed only after goods are received, inspected, and reconciled.
If total fees, duties, shipping, and related costs equal or exceed the value of the goods, no refund will be issued.
In cases where costs incurred by Blu-Sub exceed the value of the order, we reserve the right to recover outstanding amounts from the customer through invoicing or other lawful means.
⚖️ Freight Costs & Variability
- Freight charges shown at checkout are estimates based on the information available at the time of purchase.
- In rare cases, actual carrier charges (especially for oversize or bulk orders) may exceed the estimate.
- Customers agree to pay any additional charges required to complete delivery.
🚚 Lost, Damaged, or Delayed Shipments
- Once a shipment is transferred to the carrier, responsibility for delivery rests with the carrier.
- If your order is damaged in transit, please file a claim with the carrier immediately. We can assist with documentation.
- We cannot refund or replace items delayed, lost, or misdelivered by the carrier.
✅ Agreement to Terms
By placing an order on www.blu-sub.com, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Product-page lead times are production/dispatch estimates only.
- Carrier transit times are estimates and may be extended by factors outside our control.
- You are the importer of record for international shipments outside the United States.
- For U.S. orders shipped DDP, Blu-Sub acts as importer of record for duty and customs purposes.
- Duties, taxes, brokerage fees, and import compliance for non-U.S. international shipments are the responsibility of the buyer.
- HS codes shown on our website are provided as a reference only.
- Refused shipments do not qualify as returns.
- Any refunds are subject to deduction of all incurred costs.
