The Subsea M10 Rotary Potentiometer provides a reliable underwater interface for analog signal adjustment tasks such as speed control, brightness tuning, or variable input in sealed subsea electronics. Designed with a threaded M10×1 bulkhead and rated to 1,000 m depth, it enables precise manual resistance adjustment without compromising enclosure integrity.
The potentiometer features an aluminum housing with a black anodized bulkhead and a red, enlarged rotary knob textured with non-slip grooves for firm grip during dives. It offers a mechanical rotation range of 240° ±10°, with a corresponding electrical travel of 230° ±10°. The knob holds its position without spring return and must be reset manually if needed.
Internally, it supports a 10 kΩ resistance value with ±10% tolerance and a temperature coefficient of ±250 ppm/°C, making it suitable for use in both air and submerged environments. Wire outputs follow a standard configuration—red for the wiper (movable contact), green for CCW (ground), and yellow for CW (voltage supply)—allowing easy integration into microcontroller-based voltage divider circuits for analog input interpretation.
Because this is a finite-travel potentiometer, it should not be rotated beyond its limit range. Over-rotation can lead to permanent internal damage. While mechanical travel is smooth and stable, thread adhesive or anti-loosening spacers are recommended to ensure long-term fastening under operational stress or vibration.
The Subsea M10 Rotary Potentiometer is well-suited for remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), underwater lighting control panels, and embedded control pods requiring manual adjustment with reliable analog output from a compact, sealed interface.

Sold Separately
The Subsea M10 Rotary Potentiometer installs easily into a variety of Blu-Sub subsea enclosures using a standard M10 mounting hole. Each enclosure supports sealed, reliable analog adjustment at depth. Ensure the selected housing provides sufficient bulkhead thickness and internal clearance for the potentiometer body and wiring.
Subsea Watertight Enclosure Box
Compact aluminum enclosure rated to 300 m, pre-drilled with twenty M10 ports—ideal for rotary potentiometers, sensors, or indicator modules. No modification required for installation.
Subsea Enclosure Acrylic Tube
Transparent cast acrylic body rated to 250 m, compatible with Blu-Sub aluminum end-caps. Choose end-caps with an M10 mounting hole for proper integration and sealing.
Subsea Enclosure Aluminum Tube
Rugged enclosure rated to 1,000 m. Use with matching aluminum end-caps featuring an M10 hole to install the rotary potentiometer. Suitable for deep-water control assemblies.
Sold Separately
The Subsea M10 Coupling Tube provides an external mounting solution for the rotary potentiometer when internal bulkhead space is limited or direct panel integration is impractical. It offers sufficient internal clearance for wiring and can be sealed with epoxy to ensure waterproof integrity and mechanical strain relief. Ideal for modular ROV and AUV systems requiring accessible analog control interfaces.

Can it rotate indefinitely? What will happen if I continue to rotate with brute force after reaching the limit?
Infinite rotation is not possible. The total mechanical travel is limited to 240°±10°. Exceeding the maximum operating torque will cause permanent damage to the potentiometer.
How can I control the throttle of motor rotation with this potentiometer? How can I control the brightness of the light?
You can connect the potentiometer to a voltage divider circuit, read the voltage value through the microcontroller and calculate the resistance value. Then send the control signal to the motor or light through the microcontroller.
Is it self-resetting?
No, it will stay in the rotating position with certain resistance and needs to be reset to the origin manually.
Is it finite, or can it be rotated 360 degrees?
It's a finite rotation device, not infinitely rotating.
Does temperature affect the resistance value?
Yes, the temperature coefficient is ±250ppm/℃.
Will the nut be loosened when rotating?
Possibly. You can apply thread adhesive to the nut, or add anti-loosening and anti-slip spacers at the end of the nut.
Does the knob move up and down during rotation?
No, the knob position remains fixed.
