Description
The Universal M8/M10 Installation Wrench is designed to assist with the assembly and servicing of Blu-Sub bulkhead-style components used in subsea enclosures and underwater systems. Its double-ended design allows a single tool to support both M8 and M10 hardware sizes, reducing the need for multiple specialized tools when working with Blu-Sub installations.
Each end of the wrench features an integrated slot that allows the tool to pass over cables during installation or removal. This enables users to tighten or loosen components even when cables are already attached, which is common in pre-terminated subsea assemblies and compact enclosure layouts.
The wrench is manufactured from stainless steel for durability and corrosion resistance in marine and workshop environments. Minimum Required Spacing
Refer to the diagram above for the minimum recommended installation spacing between adjacent bulkhead components. A minimum distance of ≥ 0.6 mm between the outer diameters of adjacent bulkhead components is recommended to allow proper wrench insertion and reliable engagement during installation or removal. Keep in mind that actual spacing may also be influenced by mounting hole tolerances and installation alignment.
Why does the wrench opening widen, deform, or slip when excessive force is applied?
This typically occurs when the wrench is over-tightened beyond the recommended torque range. Blu-Sub bulkhead components can achieve proper installation torque without excessive force. If deformation occurs, the wrench opening may sometimes be gently pressed back into shape to restore proper engagement.
What are the four round holes in the wrench used for?
The holes allow the included screw and nut to be installed through the wrench, creating a temporary handle. This can provide additional leverage or improved control when tightening or loosening components.
Can this wrench be used with a torque wrench?
No. This version of the Universal M8/M10 Installation Wrench is not designed to interface with a torque wrench. Installation should be performed manually within the normal torque range required for Blu-Sub bulkhead-style components.
Are all M8 and M10 components fully compatible with the wrench?
